Senior .NET Software Engineer

Proekspert
Tallinn, ee · В офисеПолнаяОпубликовано 2 нед. назад

About the company

Proekspert is a fast-growing IT company providing tailored, high-impact solutions for the manufacturing and smart device industry across Europe.

The role

Are you a Senior Engineer who wants to own systems end to end? Not just write the code, but stand behind its design, quality, and how it holds up in production? You care about the real-life projects that positively impact and improve the everyday life of thousands of users? Then this challenge is for you!

Our team builds and operates a cloud-native IoT solution that connects tens of thousands of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) devices directly to the Cloud. It allows remote monitoring, control, and optimization of installations in the field, real-time performance tracking, and energy consumption analysis. It is also a central platform behind a range of consumer and service-partner applications. These run on the web and mobile, across multiple brands and markets. The product is used by technicians and end-users worldwide.

What is the project about?

Since 2018, Proekspert collaborates with a leading global HVAC manufacturer to design, build, and run the Cloud platform behind their connected devices.

The solution keeps tens of thousands of devices connected in real time. The client’s technicians and end-users get round-the-clock control, monitoring, and performance insight. The platform has been a business-critical component in production for years. Behind it is a demanding, high-throughput backend that handles thousands of requests per second in real time. Keeping a mission-critical system reliable at scale takes resilience and quality engineering. The team handles its continuous development, new functionality, maintenance, and 3rd level support.

Technologies:

.NET 8 / C#, Entity Framework Core, Azure (AKS, Service Bus, Event Hub, App Service, Notification Hub, Key Vault, Blob Storage, Application Insights, WebJobs), MS SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC, REST API, JSON-RPC, WebSocket, CI/CD (TeamCity), IaC (Bicep, Kustomize)

What will you do?

  • Own features end to end, from technical analysis and solution design at the early request stage through delivery. Stand behind their quality, fit for purpose and long-term maintainability.
  • Drive software design and architecture for a scalable, secure platform. Consult the client on the best technical solution for what the project actually needs.
  • Build and run global live services, setting up, configuring, and maintaining the solution in Azure. Applying DevOps practices to new and existing services.
  • Ensure quality through automated tests. There is no separate manual QA, so every engineer stands behind their own work.
  • Monitor systems proactively. Flag and resolve issues or improvements before they become problems.
  • Plan, propose, and implement new features. Communicate directly with the client on the features you own.
  • Help shape the teams technical direction by challenging assumptions and proposing best solutions.
  • Use AI tooling to draft, generate, test, or summarise while reviewing the result and owning every decision yourself.

Qualifications

We are looking for a team member who:

  • Has 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, including at least 4 years of hands-on development in .NET and C#.
  • Has strong software design and architecture experience. Is able to reason about their decisions.
  • Has comprehensive practical knowledge of MS Azure and is able to propose architecture, set up the platform, and implement changes and updates.
  • Has worked with distributed systems and has the appetite for large and complex ones.
  • Can self-prioritize, make decisions independently, and support the team’s shared decisions.
  • Chooses and utilizes the right tools, including AI tooling, to get the best result while owning the decisions.
  • Has excellent cooperation and communication skills while being able to consultatively approach the client. Can present, explain, and defend a point of view.
  • Is fluent in English and Estonian.

Additional information

Founded by engineers for engineers, Proekspert is a place that encapsulates their vision of an ideal working environment. We value individual freedom, decision-making and proactiveness. This team owns the majority of its own decisions, from technologies it uses, what ceremonies and processes to have and how to work together for the best possible result.

What we offer:

  • Meaningful, steady work with real-world impact in projects that improve everyday life of thousands of users and the world.
  • Having real autonomy by organizing your own work without unecessary bureaucracy.
  • An experienced team who support and mentor each other.
  • We value the well-being of our people and their families.
  • An exciting benefits package.
