Fraud Countermeasure Team Lead (Fraud Platform)

It’s a dynamic, high-stakes space where speed, precision, and innovation matter every day.</p> <p>The Fraud Countermeasure Team Lead drives the tactical defense layer of Veriff’s Fraud Platform. By fusing threat intel, behavioral analytics, and real-time signals, the Countermeasures team uncovers new attack patterns, prioritises them by business impact, and ships detection logic that blocks fraud within hours. You will manage a team of fraud experts, own the attack-backlog roadmap, and ensure every countermeasure maximises protection while preserving user experience, speed, and trust.</p> <p><strong>You’ll help us protect honest people online by:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead, grow, and develop a Fraud Countermeasures team that ships high-impact fraud rules at pace by nurturing a team culture of accountability, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration.</li> <li>Translate raw threat intel into a focused detection strategy, aligning the team’s backlog with the Fraud Platform’s north-star metrics.</li> <li>Own end-to-end delivery—plan sprints, remove blockers, and help team ship countermeasures in hours, not weeks, while communicating crisp updates to execs and the wider company.</li> <li>Champion tooling and process upgrades—automate intel ingestion, detection testing, and rule deployment—so the team scales faster than the fraud landscape.</li> <li>Partner with product, data science, and engineering stakeholders to craft a long-term vision for proactive detection and inspire the team to chase it independently.</li> <li>Contribute to Veriff’s global fraud risk posture reinforcement.</li> <li>Foster a red-team mindset: treat every missed fraud case as a controlled breach, and drive cross-functional squads to hunt, replicate, and shut down attacks faster than they can scale.</li> <li>Support career growth, feedback culture, and skill development in alignment with our internal product management principles.</li> <li>Executing orders of a direct manager or his/her substitute employee and</li> <li>performing other unforeseen tasks as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>3+ years leading operations team fighting online fraud at scale in fintech, identity, or similar domains.</li> <li>SQL fluency; you can turn raw data into attack stories and metrics.</li> <li>Proven ability to build, scale, retain, and drive strong operations teams with a clear sense of purpose and identity.</li> <li>A strategic mindset and proven ability to align team efforts with measurable business impact.</li> <li>Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling alignment across technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>A passion for mentoring and creating inclusive, high-performing team cultures.</li> <li>You approach complexity with curiosity and tenacity, thrive on uncovering root causes, and seek practical, sustainable solutions to high-impact problems.</li> <li>A mindset geared towards innovation and product discovery.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You'd be awesome for the role if you have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Red-team or threat-intel background.</li> <li>Familiarity with ML-driven systems and the ability to partner fluently with data scientists and ML engineers.</li> <li>Experience in implementing new tools or technologies to enhance fraud detection capabilities.</li> </ul> </div> <div class="p-rich_text_section"><strong data-stringify-type="bold">Why Veriff?</strong></div> <div class="p-rich_text_section"> <div class="p-rich_text_section">We are the preferred identity verification platform partner for the world’s most innovative growth-driven organizations helping conveniently verify and safeguard users anywhere in the world.
