The role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer. This role combines software engineering, data architecture, cloud technologies, and platform thinking to create scalable solutions. You will work on various client projects in close collaboration with our analytics, software, and client teams. 

Your work will be focused on the following: 

  • Act as a seed (technical contributor) in new projects. 

  • Support sales activities (participating in proposals, client meetings, and workshops). 

  • Build reliable data products and pipelines that support efficient and dependable data flow. 

  • Design scalable data models and Data Warehouse architectures to make data easier to access, understand, and trust. 

  • Develop modern ETL/ELT solutions to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency. 

  • Enable real-time insights by building streaming and event-driven data solutions. 

  • Improve the resilience, performance, and scalability of data platforms through modern cloud technologies. 

  • Apply engineering best practices such as CI/CD, testing, automation, and version-controlled development. 

  • Partner with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to solve complex data challenges. 

  • Help shape the future roadmap and data architecture across growing industries. 

Qualifications

You'll Excel in This Role If You Have: 

  • At least 5 years of work experience in this role, with involvement in 2-3 different large-scale and complex systems projects. 

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). 

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, and MS Fabric). 

  • Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Flyte). 

  • Experience with data transformation and ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Talend, AWS Glue, and Matillion). 

  • Experience with data streaming and processing technologies (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Spark). 

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

  • Experience with Data Warehouse modeling methodologies (Kimball and Data Vault). 

  • Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices, especially for enforcing data governance, security, and automated compliance rules. 

  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines or platform services. 

  • Previous experience with AI development tools.  

  • Willingness to connect and communicate directly with the customer side. 

  • Desire to find the best possible solutions. 

  • You are motivated, self-directed, and proactive. 

  • Great cooperation and communication skills. 

  • Very good written and spoken English.  

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT.

Nice to haves:  

  • Familiarity with modern data architecture paradigms such as Data Mesh. 

  • Experience with business analytics.  

  • Experience with legacy database engines. 

  • Estonian language.
