Senior Software Engineer (Trust)

Our AI-powered product uses advanced image recognition, facial verification, face recognition, facial anti-spoofing (liveness detection), and behavior analysis to make identity decisions. We help our partners build onboarding processes that ensure good people get things done and bad folks get stopped.</p> <p>But knowing who someone is only gets you halfway. The next question is whether they can be trusted — and answering it means checking a person's identity data against the authoritative sources that hold the truth. Every country does this differently: a different registry, a different database, a different set of rules about what can be checked and how.</p> <p>To take our platform to the next level, we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Trust team. This team builds and operates the services that validate a person's identity data against country-specific authoritative sources — government registries, national databases, AML and sanctions screening — and turns that patchwork of very different upstreams into a single, dependable trust signal our customers can act on. Lead Product Manager, Customer Portal
Veriff
<div class="p-rich_text_section"> <h3 class="p1">About Customer Portal</h3> <p class="p2">Customer Portal exists to make Veriff's product sell itself.&nbsp; The Portal serves two purposes. It allows our customers to operate Veriff products — setting up and&nbsp;configuring products, consulting verification session details, reporting issues. And it is a privileged surface&nbsp;for customers to discover, try, buy and expand through a seamless self-serve experience, connecting&nbsp;product usage, onboarding and growth in one place. It unites forces with GTM to automate acquisition,&nbsp;upsell, cross-sell and retention, with end-to-end ownership of the customer persona.&nbsp; The area is evolving fast. What began as a self-serve growth surface (Station) is becoming the&nbsp;customer-facing window into Veriff's accuracy and fraud advantage for our largest enterprise customers.</p> <h3 class="p1">The shape of this role</h3> <p class="p2">This is an IC-first leadership role, and the first genuine step into product leadership — distinct from a&nbsp;strong senior IC. At first you will lead through craft, authority and influence. You own the strategy,&nbsp;discovery, roadmap and delivery for your product area.</p> <p class="p2">As you refine the strategic themes for this large product, we expect you to propose the team configuration&nbsp;needed to support our growth and company objectives. That will move you progressively from IC to&nbsp;manager, while retaining hands-on ownership of at least one part of the Customer Portal area in the&nbsp;mid-term.&nbsp;We will deliberately assess for both the IC craft bar and the latent management capability, because the&nbsp;role is designed to traverse the line.</p> <h3 class="p1">What you will do</h3> <ul> <li class="p2">Own the product strategy and roadmap for the Customer Portal area, tied explicitly to Veriff's&nbsp;commercial model and revenue drivers.</li> <li class="p2">Run disciplined, continuous discovery with customers, and translate it into well-defined problem&nbsp;statements and a sequenced roadmap.</li> <li class="p2">Make transparent prioritisation and trade-off calls across product ambition, technical sustainability and&nbsp;business urgency — especially where capability gaps mean we cannot do everything at once.</li> <li class="p2">Define success metrics before building, and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not output.</li> <li class="p2">Partner as a credible peer to Engineering, GTM, Fraud Ops and Design. Be the connective tissue that&nbsp;turns internal expertise into a customer-facing product.</li> <li class="p2">Own launch as a discipline from the start — internal platform releases and external GTM — not a&nbsp;milestone at the end.</li> <li class="p2">Set and uphold the product-craft bar. Mentor PMs and, in time, build and lead the team.</li> <li class="p2">Champion AI internally, implementing new best practices for faster product discovery and delivery.</li> </ul> <h3 class="p1">Who you are</h3> <p class="p2">You are a product leader who has earned authority through the quality of your thinking rather than a title.</p> <p class="p3"><strong>You have owned a product area end-to-end</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">From strategy through discovery, delivery and launch. You are equally comfortable in the messy front end&nbsp;of a problem and in the discipline of shipping.</li> <li class="p2">You are looking for the step where your impact starts to come through others, and you are excited that this role begins as an individual leader and grows into&nbsp;managing a team — not the other way around.</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>You think commercially</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">You instinctively connect what you build to how the business grows, and you explain the “why” behind a&nbsp;product bet in terms of revenue, retention and customer trust, not just features and flows.</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>You run discovery as a continuous discipline</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">You get close to customers, including demanding enterprise accounts, and you can tell the difference&nbsp;between what they ask for and what they actually need.</li> <li class="p2">You turn that into sharp problem statements and a phased roadmap where every step delivers a real customer outcome.</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>You prioritise ruthlessly and transparently</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">When there are more good ideas than capacity, you make the hard calls about what not to do, and you can&nbsp;articulate the reasoning.</li> <li class="p2">You define success before you build. When something goes wrong, you own it&nbsp;without deflection and change how you work as a result.</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>You lead through influence, not authority</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">You build credibility with engineering, go-to-market, design and operations partners as a genuine peer,&nbsp;and you reach good decisions with people who do not report to you.</li> <li class="p2">You stay calm under uncertainty,&nbsp;create space for views that differ from your own, and commit gracefully once a call is made.</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>You raise the people around you</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">You set a high craft bar through your own work, share your thinking generously and give specific, useful&nbsp;feedback.</li> <li class="p2">You are motivated by building and leading a team over time, with a realistic understanding that&nbsp;management is a different job — one focused on developing people and multiplying impact, not doing all&nbsp;the work yourself.</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>You stay current on your craft</strong></p> <ul> <li class="p2">You take pride in tracking how product management is evolving, and you consistently find time to&nbsp;experiment and fold what works into your practice.</li> </ul> </div> <h3 class="p-rich_text_section"><strong data-stringify-type="bold">Why Veriff?</strong></h3> <div class="p-rich_text_section"> <div class="p-rich_text_section">We are the preferred identity verification platform partner for the world’s most innovative growth-driven organizations helping conveniently verify and safeguard users anywhere in the world. Senior II Software Engineer - Machine Learning Platform
Wise
About the company Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Min fees. Max ease. Full speed. Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money. As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. For everyone, everywhere. More about our mission and what we offer . The role For our customers, Wise should feel as simple as sending money from A to B. Behind that simplicity is a complex engine of currencies, routes, products, and features, generating terabytes of data every day. Data Products & Insights helps Wise turn that data into products, insights, and decisions at scale. Within this area, the Machine Learning Platform (MLP) team builds and maintains the infrastructure that enables data scientists across Wise to develop, deploy, serve, and monitor machine learning models at scale. Our platform powers predictions and decisions across the business - from fraud detection to treasury management to product personalisation - directly impacting how Wise serves millions of customers worldwide. Your mission and role will be building and maintaining a cost efficient and scalable machine learning platform, that is a delight to use and that provides a good engineering and data science experience while shortening the full experimentation feedback loop - a data scientist does not just deploy models fast, but learns fast which model is better. Your input will directly affect how Wise is making decisions and predictions on billions of events. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help us evolve from a collection of tools into a coherent, self-service platform. You don't need previous machine learning experience to succeed in this role. We're looking first and foremost for strong software engineers with significant production backend experience (e.g. Java, Python) , ideally combined with a strong platform or infrastructure engineering background. Familiarity with ML systems is a bonus, and something you can develop on the job. The team you will be joining: Machine Learning Platform The MLP team is part of the Data Products & Insights Squad. We own the infrastructure layer that sits between data scientists and production: model serving, training pipelines, model registry and experiment tracking, feature management, and model monitoring on the line. Our customers are internal - Data Scientists and ML engineers across Wise - and our success is measured by how effectively they can build, deploy, and iterate on models without friction. We are a small, collaborative team that values product thinking, shared ownership, and continuous improvement. We are in the early stages of introducing structured agile practices and treat every process change as an experiment. What You Will Do Build and maintain core ML platform services including model serving infrastructure, training pipelines, and experiment tracking Contribute to the evolution of our platform from individual service offerings towards a coherent, user-driven product Improve platform scalability, reliability, and operability, ensuring our infrastructure can support hundreds of models in production while making pragmatic trade-offs around cost, complexity, and user needs. Improve observability and monitoring across the model lifecycle, helping data scientists understand model health and performance Collaborate with data scientists to understand their workflows, pain points, and needs - treating them as your customers Participate in on-call/support rotation, contributing to platform stability and identifying opportunities to reduce operational toil Help shape the technical and product roadmap by contributing to discovery, spikes (exploratory/investigative work), and architectural decisions Share knowledge across the team, reduce silos, mentor others, and help raise engineering standards through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement. What does it take? You care about bringing value and satisfaction to your customers - the developer/user experience of the people who use your platform matters as much as the technical elegance of the solution You think in systems, not just features - you consider how components interact, where complexity lives, and how to reduce it You are comfortable working across the stack - from infrastructure and orchestration to APIs and developer tooling You take ownership of problems end-to-end, from understanding the need through to production and beyond You communicate clearly, build consensus, and enjoy collaborating with people from different disciplines - data scientists, product managers, and fellow engineers You have a growth mindset - curious, experimental, and open to giving and receiving regular feedback You share your ideas, continuously improve yourself and the team around you, and are comfortable working collaboratively in a hybrid environment What do you need? We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. We value potential and enthusiasm as much as existing expertise. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!
