With hundreds of agency partners around the world, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider globally.</p> <p><strong>As Strategy &amp; Operations Principal</strong>, you will run Via's DACH services like a business — owning P&amp;L, setting strategy, and using data to drive every decision that determines how the service performs. You'll combine financial rigor with operational instincts, working across internal teams and external partners to continuously improve how things run. You take full ownership.</li> <li><strong>Financially fluent:</strong> comfortable with numbers, can hold your own in a P&amp;L conversation, and use data to drive decisions.</li> <li><strong>Stakeholder-savvy:</strong> you find the right tone in every situation — from drivers to government partners. Native-level or C2 <strong>German</strong> and English required.</li> <li><strong>Data-informed:</strong> you identify trends and turn insights into action, not just reports.</li> <li><strong>Agile and adaptable:</strong> you thrive in fast-paced environments and jump in hands-on when needed.</li> <li><strong>Experienced:</strong> 6–10 years from startups, tech, consulting, finance, or similar.</li> <li><strong>Problem solver:</strong> detail-oriented, action-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities without losing the thread.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A global employer with 700+ deployments in 40+ countries, recognized for its commitment to social good</li> <li>Competitive base salary and equity</li> <li>Hybrid work and a lovely office situated in the heart of Berlin, in Mitte</li> <li>Urban Sports Club membership</li> <li>Weekly team lunch and breakfast</li> <li>30 vacation days a year</li> </ul> <p>There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility. Ready to join the ride?</p> <p>Via is an equal opportunity employer.</p>

Comfortable taking ownership of vendor negotiations and explaining costs to the business. Willingness to give and take regular feedback - regular feedback is part of our culture. Qualifications What do you need? We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. We value potential and enthusiasm as much as existing expertise. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you! You have a solid engineering background in Python with years of experience putting solutions into production and maintaining them. You have high coding standards - understanding of test coverage best practices & the test pyramid concept, and you are well versed in writing effective, scalable and clean code. You have experience deploying microservices to cloud based systems. You have experience designing and implementing distributed and concurrent systems, knowing the tradeoffs between stateful/stateless and synchronous/asynchronous architectures. You have knowledge and experience with LLMs and building LLM based applications. Experience with agentic frameworks and designing agentic-based workflows . You have experience working with product teams helping to build out their ideas in production. You stay on top of the latest developments and trends in the AI industry. You know Prompt Engineering best practices. You have the ability to take initiative while working collaboratively - identify problems, empathise with stakeholders and collaborators, create plans and implement solutions. You are a great communicator with the ability to clearly relay your plans back to the team, mentor junior engineers and seek out feedback for yourself. The customer is at the heart of everything you do and this empathy drives the decisions you make. Nice to haves You have a solid engineering background in Typescript/Javascript, and have worked building performant UI’s and/or using TS/JS AI frameworks.
