The role Banking Operations Managers make Wise’s banking partnerships operationally reliable, accountable and cost-efficient, so Wise can scale payments with lower risk and better customer outcomes. This role will focus on some of Wise’s largest and most critical global banking partners across Swift, EUR and GBP payment flows. Build operational visibility across Wise by improving shared partner records, documentation and reporting around partner performance and relationship management. Work with Banking, Finance, Legal, risk and controls, and banking governance teams on partner fees, losses, contract/SLA discussions, controls and regulatory expectations. Help regional and internal teams work more effectively with banking partners by sharing context, best practices and clear operating routines. You understand payment operations and banking partner relationships , ideally including global payment rails such as Swift, EUR or GBP payment routes. You are highly data-driven : you can investigate issues, form a clear hypothesis, size the impact and build an evidence-based case for action. You are strong at stakeholder management and can influence internal teams and external partners without direct authority . You are comfortable having difficult conversations and holding partners or internal teams accountable in a clear, constructive way. You can operate in ambiguity , prioritise across a broad portfolio and move work forward without waiting for perfect instructions. You communicate clearly and concisely , especially when translating complex operational issues for different audiences. You have a strong ownership mindset , good judgement under pressure and a practical approach to solving problems. You care about controls, documentation and operational resilience , especially where partner performance can affect customers, risk or customer money. Nice-to-haves: Experience working directly with banks, payment schemes, correspondent banking, Swift, SEPA, GBP payment schemes or high-volume payment infrastructure. Experience running operational reviews, quarterly business reviews or service reviews with banks, vendors or strategic B2B partners. Experience with SLA management, contract discussions, liability, fee reconciliation or cost recovery. Experience in Treasury Operations, liquidity, safeguarding, financial risk or operational risk.
